My husband now receives a W2 for his video work, although the work is done here at the home office. Is there another way to report that income?

My husband works from the home office doing video production, but receives a W2 instead of "cash". Because of this his business income is minimal and the home office does not qualify. Is there some other way we should report that income in the business section and not the personal income section?

Deductions & credits

No, if your husband receives a Form W2, there isn't an option to report it differently.

Unfortunately, if you are an employee (Paid with a W2 not a 1099), beginning with your 2018 Tax Return, you can no longer deduct your employment related expenses.

The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA) that was signed into law in December of 2017 eliminated all "Miscellaneous Itemized Deductions" formerly allowable on your Schedule A.  This includes all "unreimbursed employee expenses, including a home office.
