Depending on the improvements made to your home, you may be able to deduct your purchases in the Energy-Saving Home Improvements section of the program. To check:
- Open your return, if you don't already have it open.
- Click My Account in the top right corner
- Then, Tools
- Then, Topic Search
- Search for energy improvements. (Do not search for "energy credit," as this will take you to the wrong place in the program.)
- Click Go
- Follow the interview from here
