We drove our truck on a Mission Trip with our church. Can we claim anything for that? And what would we show as the charity?
We went from texas to Colorado in 2016 to work with establishing a church there. Our church paid for our motel and some meals but we paid for other meals.

Deductions & credits
The mileage for the trip would be deductible at a rate of .14 per mile.
To enter into TurboTax, follow these instructions:
- Click on Federal Taxes TAB
- Click on the Deductions and Credits SubTAB.
- Choose the option "I'll choose what I work on".
- Find the section Charitable Donations and click Show More.
- Click start or update on the line Donations to Charity in 2006.
- Add the name of the church that you were associated with when you took the mission trip under the line
"Let's enter your donations one at a time" Who did you donate to in 2016. - Click add next to "Mileage and Travel Expenses" and continue.
- You should not add travel expense for which you were reimbursed.
