First, you will not have to amend your tax return.
- The IRS will quickly know that the payment wasn't made.
- You have two alternatives.
- Do nothing, and the IRS will send you a tax notice and simply take $650 from your account.
- Or, you can make either the $500 or $650 payment online. Be sure it is for the 2023 tax year!
