May my stimulus check be loaded on my Turbotax account

What we know is that the IRS has started depositing stimulus payments on some prepaid debit cards for taxpayers that chose to receive their refund through that method in tax year 2019 or 2018.  If you received your refund on a prepaid debit card in tax year 2018 or 2019, here is what you need to know:

  • I have access to my debit card: If you have access to your debit card (most people), there is nothing more you need to do.  If the IRS deposits a stimulus payment onto your prepaid debit card, you will be able to immediately use the stimulus funds upon deposit.
  • I don't have access to my debit card: If you received a notification that you will be receiving your stimulus payment from the IRS on your prepaid debit card and no longer have access to it, we will have information coming shortly.  TurboTax encourages customers in this category to visit thisite, which is continually updated with the latest information and guidance.

I DID file with you guys last year, and DID receive the turbotax card (via Green Dot for those interested). I used the free to do, pay to file feature, and received a well enough refund on my turbotax card as expected. NOW... everyone is questioning if their stimulus will be loaded via this same card since it had checking account info. some say yes, some say no.... TT has mixed impressions with boxed answers. The forum with over 1200 comments was closed yesterday at page 120, and had been closed right when everyone would be saying if they got it on their cards... convenient... but i digress. I'm here to say, I waited and waited, then when the IRS tool was available, I input my info and BAM! an ANSWER!!! Unfortunately, it said, "you qualify for the payment, however, we do NOT HAVE A DIRECT DEPOSIT ACCOUNT ON FILE for you." weird.... since y'all saying the card WAS the account.... Either way, I had to input my current checking account info outside of the Turbo Tax Card. surly you guys didn't shut down that other active forum in fear... right????
