If you made any contributions to or took any distributions from your HSA, the IRS requires you to file form 8889

 

Form 8889 is supported by TurboTax products Deluxe and above.

 

Your contributions to your HSA have already been reported to the IRS if through your employer when your employer send the IRS a copy of your W-2 and to the IRS by the HSA custodian when they send heir copy of the 5498-SA (this form is filed sometime between now and the end of May).

 

Thus, your failure to report your HSA contributions will prompt the IRS to send you a letter requesting why you did not report the contribution.

 

Therefore, we cannot recommend you removing your HSA information when you are clearly required to file the form.
