Deductions & credits
Job related expenses are no longer deductible for most people. You can enter business expenses related to 1099-MISC income, but as of the 2018, you cannot deduct expenses related to W-2 employment.
Only the following workers can deduct job related expenses:
- Armed Forces reservists
- Qualified performing artists
- Fee-basis state or local government officials.
- Disabled employees with impairment-related work expenses
