To claim the Adoption Tax credit please follow the steps below:
- Log in to your account.
- Go to Federal Taxes.
- Go to Deductions and Credits.
- Scroll down to You and your Family.
- Click start next to Adoption Credit
The Adoption Tax credit is nonrefundable, which means it's limited to your tax liability for the year. However, any credit in excess of your tax liability may be carried forward for up to five years.
