What state are you referring to?
What is your filing status on the federal return? Married Filing Joint or Married Filing Separate?
What is your filing status on the state? Married Filing Joint or Married Filing Separate?
Note that some states allow you to file Married Filing Separate on the state level even if you file Joint on the federal (in fact, one or two states are really pushy about it).
Go back through your state interview and see if you clicked Continue on a screen that set your state return to MFS without realizing it.
