Taxable state refund if $10000 property tax deduction taken?
I had $14,000 in real property tax deductions and $15,000 in state income tax deductions on my 2018 1040 and received a state refund of $5,300. Since I was capped at $10,000 for both deductions and the real estate tax deduction, by itself, covered this, do I have to pay taxes on my state refund even though it wasn't used as a deduction on my Schedule A (although I did enter it)?

State tax filing
If you took itemized deduction last year, then enter the amount of state tax refund.
Turbotax will calculate how much, if any, of that refund is taxable.
