How do I create an Ohio state tax id number? We had a nanny and thought we were covered on all our tax liability but may not be.

We tried to create the W2 for our employee and need to provide a state tax ID in box 15 of the form. Apparently we missed a major step, but not sure how to fix this.

It depends. To obtain a state identification number, you need to register your business with the state, which is not a service available in TurboTax. The following website, however, can help you to do this: https://www.tax.ohio.gov/business/business_registration.aspx

Once you are successful in obtaining the number, you should be able to finish your return in TurboTax.
