Reidency of SC worked in VA half of year and Fl half year why SC charging $1700.00 in taxes" didn't have income in SC

State tax filing

As an SC resident, SC gets to tax all your income.

You can get a credit for the taxes you paid to VA and FL for the income taxes you paid there there...BUT, you don't pay any income taxes to FL, so as a SC resident, you will pay taxes on that FL income.

(this isn't unusual...all states, without some kind of reciprocal tax agreement, will tax that FL income the same way if you are not a resident of FL.)

In order to take the credit for taxes paid to VA, you have to prepare your nonresident tax return for VA first...to see what tax VA assesses (not what was withheld).
