State tax filing
No, living in a different state, because you are going to college, is not "living in a different state" for tax purposes.
Generally, you're a resident of a state if you don't intend to be there temporarily. It's where home is – where you come back to after being away on vacation, business trip, or school.
If you earned money in your college state, you would enter that you made money in a different state in the Personal Info section of TurboTax.
