why NJ state gross income is higher than Federal and NY gross income in turbo tax?
it does not make sense to me the gross income in NJ is higher than federal. and the NJ taxable income is much higher than federal also. Not sure what's happened with my turbo tax software. The only thing that make difference is when I was asked to check to remove those wages for each state wage line that is a duplicate.

There NY tax that I can remove. Turbo tax only asks me whether to remove NJ tax. Remove or no the total gross does not match between federal and NJ state

If you contribute to a 401k at work,
your Federal wages will be less than your NJ wages.
