When will my return be deposited? How long does Turbo Tax hold my refund without communicating to me? I'd like to see my refund deposited into my checking account.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 20a of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

To track your state refund:

On the IRS site you are also offered the use of an app called IRS2Go

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901548-why-do-some-refunds-take-longer-than-others

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

If you chose to have your refund deducted from your federal refund:

Your tax refund was not sent to TurboTax.   TurboTax does not handle your refund at all.

Santa Barbara Tax Products Group, LLC  (SBTPG) is the bank that handles the Refund Processing Service when you choose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your refund. This option also has an additional charge from the bank that processes the transaction.

You can contact them SBTPG, toll-free, at 1-877-908-7228 or go to their secure website www.sbtpg.com

Hello! My refund was released by the IRS on the 5th. Turbo tax has estimated my refund should be available. The third party that I am supposed to be able to log into says they don't have any of my information. I am concerned that my money has been stolen by Turbo Tax. I have used this service for 4 years and never been this upset. There is no reason that my refund should be held for a month with no explanation or ability to reach out.

Please explain why you stole from me with no explanation.

No one has stolen your tax refund.

Does the IRS website for tax refunds indicate the federal tax refund was sent and if so what date is shown on the IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Yes! It was released on the 5th. My banking information was correct. I know that the refund goes to a third party for my dues to come out. That third party has no record of my return. The irs indicated that it was deposited on the 5th. I called my financial institution and they have no deposits or pending deposits.

Contact the IRS and they should be able to tell you the bank routing number the federal tax refund was sent to and if the refund was accepted by that financial institution.

Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday
When calling the IRS do NOT choose the first option re: "Refund", or it will send you to an automated phone line.
So after first choosing your language, then do NOT choose Option 1 (refund info). Choose option 2 for "personal income tax" instead.
Then press 1 for "form, tax history, or payment".
Then press 3 "for all other questions."
Then press 2 "for all other questions."
- When it asks you to enter your SSN or EIN to access your account information, don't enter anything.
- After it asks twice, you will get another menu.
Then press 2 for personal or individual tax questions.
It should then transfer you to an agent.
