I can’t move passed the 1098 -T because it’s telling me to fix error before moving forward but I don’t see my mistake.

Getting an error message stating that you must fix errors on Form 1098-T before continuing is usually an indication that some of the information on the page was copied and pasted into the field.

This commonly occurs for the school’s Federal ID number, but it can happen in other fields as well.

To fix it, go back through the entries and type them by hand instead of using copy/paste.  Also, be sure that there are no extra spaces or blanks before or after any of the entries on the page.

It has to do with my employer information. I am retired and have no w-2 to fill out.

@Captain Milt Since you are retired and have no W-2 to enter, you may have a 1009-R for Pension Income and/or a 1099-SSA for Social Security Benefits.

Click this link for info on How to Enter a 1099-R.

This link gives instructions for reporting Social Security Benefits.
