How do I file money received from cash separation indemnity plan?
Hello,
I quitted my job and received few months later money from cash/termination Indemnity plan of my ex-company. When I received the money, I already filed my tax for 2020. Do I need to amend my return? If so, how should I file it?
Thank you very much for your help

After you file
If you got the money in 2021 it will go onto the 2021 tax return.

After you file
Hello,
Thank you for your reply and yes, it gave me a good hint.
I checked my W2 for 2020, and the indemnity was not included, but I got the money in late 2020.
(receipt came in 2021)
So my guess is I should amend my 2020 tax and file the money.
Thank you very much
