After you file
Once your return has been transmitted and accepted by the IRS, Turbo Tax doesn't have any control of your refund. The IRS have backlog of income tax returns to be processed due to forms needed to be updated and/or processing of stimulus payments. The IRS started processing electronically filed income tax returns on a first in, first out basis in February 12, 2021 The refunds are processed within 21 business days after IRS acceptance of the electronically filed return.
If you haven't received your federal refund, you can check the IRS website under Refunds tab to check the status of your return

After you file
The IRS is seriously backlogged due to all the new tax laws and extra stimulus filings, as well as unprocessed 2019 returns left over from the COVID shutdown. In addition, the Where's My Refund site has been erratic and unreliable. But if TT told you that the IRS Accepted your efiling for processing, then the government has it. (Approved is a later step, but TT receives no further updates once a return is Accepted.) Unfortunately, contacting the IRS will not speed things up. Lots of other folks are still waiting, so please continue to be patient. Also see:
