What to do?, we've already filed our taxes. With the IRS and it was accepted and we have gotten our return, the issue is, is that the filing status is wrong?

For 3rd stimulus check, since it's marked single instead of jointly as should be it's saying we're ineligible?

After you file

You can file an amended return to change the filing status. It will delay the third stimulus.

 

Once the return is accepted and approved, you can being amending the return. Follow these steps to amend(change) the return:

  • With your tax return open after having filed the return, you will be at Tax Home
  • Scroll down to Your tax returns & documents and Show.
  • Select Amend(change) my return and follow the prompts.

 Amending 2020 electronically is available through October 15, 2021. Form 1040.
