I have never received my last year tax return but I received the letter from IRS that they need to verify my identity. Will I be able to still receive it or it expires?

Until you verify the ID the refund will remain in limbo ... follow the IRS notice instructions ASAP.

If you do not do what the IRS asked you to do and verify your identity you will not receive your refund.
