Amending 2017 Return with CD/Download software
https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4251801 says to "search for amend" to start an amended return. I can find no way to search. Simply opening form 1040X doesn't start the dialog indicated in the article.

If you are using the CD version, you will probably find it easier to start the prompts using the step by step method.
Click the Federal Taxes tab (if using Home and Business this will say Personal) -> then click the subtab for Other Tax Situations (after Income, Deductions, Health Insurance) -> Scroll down to Other Tax Forms -> Select Amend a return
This should start the amend a return prompts.

Fixed the link in your original post @dbp1u - we're currently refining our filters, so it's catching a few things that it shouldn't. Sorry about that!

Thanks for the tip. Is there a search function hidden away somewhere? (I'm using the download version.)

Yes, if you are using the Windows version, there should be a search bar at the top of the TurboTax program where you can enter search terms. If you are using the MAC version, its a bit different - you won't have a search bar, but you will have a Search Topics button at the top of the program. Click that and a search option will come up (the links won't say jump to but they are still links)
