You could also have gone to each state tax department website for the state forms and schedules for free and also complete those state tax returns by hand.
Or you could have gone to a tax professional and paid several hundred dollars for them to complete your federal tax return and two state tax returns for you.
The choice has always been yours on how to complete tax returns.
