After you file

A 2016 tax return can only completed using the TurboTax desktop editions for 2016.  Go to this website to purchase one of the 2016 desktop editions - https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/

A 2016 tax return can only be printed and mailed, it cannot be e-filed.

After you file

You can prepare both your taxes for 2016 and 2017, separately. Its better to do your 2016 taxes before you start your 2017 taxes for the following reasons:

You can file a paper return for 2016 using TurboTax CD/Download for Windows or Mac. Simply purchase the software and install it on your computer. You’ll need to print and mail your return. See faq below to file earlier tax return:
