After you file

Review all the information and instructions before you begin. If you made changes to your return before starting the amendment process, you should remove those changes so that your return is like the original return you filed.

If the original state return has not been fully processed you can still file the amendment.

  • Accepted Return:  You can add it by completing an amended return if you have already filed your return and the IRS has accepted it.  
  • The instructions below will provide what you need to know.  (images attached)

    The amended return is required to be mailed because the IRS does not allow e-file for this process.  The mailing address for your area can be found at this link:   Where to File Paper Returns With or Without a Payment
