It's been over 48 hours since we get our tax return what's going on this is getting to be ridiculous every year this happens with TurboTax

After you file

FYI --- this is an IRS issue not a TT one ... and anyone who files before the IRS has opened and tested their system is taking a big risk.  In the past IRS beginning of season glitches have caused long delays for many ...  I would never want to be the first in the lake until I know the alligators have been cleared out.

After you file

🙂 🙂

After you file

FYI TurboTax should tell people that instead of having them hurry and file. So what is a turbo tax issue. They said to file by the 3rd of January you would think they would know what the hell the filing dates are. Use your brain.

After you file

They said you CAN start filing on 1/3/17 ... no where do they say you MUST file ASAP.  Users are the reason the program is put out early because you demand it and will buy it and they can make money.  Also if you file with them you are locked into them so you can't file elsewhere ... Profit is a strong driver.

I am fairly sure that the wording in the instructions tells you that it is 48 hours from IRS accepting the return ... in fact it only takes minutes to get an acceptance with the new IRS system.

After you file

Right, it's a competitive issuer, as other online tax preparers do this as well.

After you file

That's an obvious thanks for all that insight. I had my accepted and received my return in January last year apparently a lot of people are lacking actual knowledge here I don't need another comment

After you file

The IRS, every year, does not start accepting tax return until later in January.  For tax year 2016 the IRS will not be accepting any type of 2016 tax return until January 23, 2017.  Your tax return is being held on the e-file servers until the IRS starts accepting tax returns.

If your 2016 tax return has a tax refund which includes EIC and/or the Additional Child Tax Credit the IRS will hold the tax return until February 15.  The IRS will start disbursing these tax refunds during the week of February 27.

"Taxpayers that are e-filing can still submit returns to their software provider before Jan. 23. They will hold the return and transmit it to the IRS when the systems open."
