After you file

It may just be a delay in processing the batches that the IRS sends out to the financial institutions.  They tend to go out in the early morning (usually around 6am EST), so if it has not been deposited to your account by early morning it generally will not be deposited that day.

When the status of your refund is Refund Sent, it means the IRS has sent your refund to your financial institution for direct deposit. This status will tell you when your refund was sent to your bank. It may take your financial institution 1 – 5 days to deposit the funds into your account.

Please wait until it’s been five days from the date we sent the refund to your bank to check with your bank about the status of your refund. This time frame is provided to allow for the variations in how and when banks deposit funds.  If you haven't received your refund in your account after the 5 day waiting period, you can call the IRS. IRS representatives will be able to research the status of your refund if your return was accepted (received) more than 21 calendar days ago. The number to call them at is 1-800-829-1040, but prepare yourself for a potentially long wait times.

Did the IRS site say your refund has been issued?  Or are you relying on the estimated date you saw on the TurboTax site?

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer. Many refunds are taking longer during the pandemic.

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control. TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.
You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount (line 20 of your Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

To track your state refund:

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.
