After you file
Did you prepare your return online? Online TurboTax has a new look starting today. Log in and it may open on the Tax Home page. If not, in the left column, click on Tax Home. Once on the Tax Home page, scroll down and find "Your tax returns & documents." If necessary, click the "Show" link on the right to expand that section.
If you find no evidence at all of your prior returns, you may have multiple accounts.
NOTE: If you used desktop TurboTax (CD/download), then it is stored locally on your computer, not in an Online account.
NOTE: Before running the account recovery tool below, log out of all Intuit accounts including this user forum, or you might end up in a loop. Then clear your browser Internet cache, close your browser, then reopen it, and go to the link below. You may wish to copy this link so you can paste it into the new browser session.

If still no luck after running that on your phone number and email address(es), then go back to the tool again, but this time leave the data field blank, and choose the small blue link that says "Try something else", and it will look you up by SSN and other parameters.

Then the file is only on your own hard drive. You used desktop software so the tax files are not stored online. They are on your computer or any backup devices you used like a flash drive.
How do I get a copy of a return I prepared using desktop TurboTax?

After you file
You cannot e-file a previous year. When you mail your tax return, use a mailing service that will track it like UPS or certified mail so you will know the IRS received it.
