How to edit sales tax on a major purchase

I am using TurboTax Premier 2018. I entered sales tax for a new vehicle, but I need to review, possibly edit that info and I can find no way to do so. When I click on Update for Sales Tax it shows the amount "based on your entries so far" but there is no way to edit or view that that I have found. Can someone tell me how to do that?  Thanks.

To access/edit your sales tax input for your new vehicle follow these steps.

With TurboTax Premier open enter sales tax car in the find window and click on find.

Select Jump to sales tax car, select continue with sales tax on the next page.

Select Easy Guide on the following page.

Click edit on page Places you lived, follow the screen prompts to page Enter Major Purchases.

You will now see your major purchases and can edit the purchase information

Thanks so much. That got me there, but boy is that so NOT intuitive! Of course, if I had read the blurb at the top of that page it would have given me the answer. Duh. Thanks again.

I purchased a boat, when I went to look for the paperwork the page was gone. Now I’m going through every option and can not find where to add Major Purchases. I’m using TurboTax Deluxe 2017. Yes, I’m filing late.

Are you using desktop 2017 software?   You cannot use the current online software for a 2017 return!!!!!!

SALES TAX

You can enter the sales tax you paid for the boat you purchased in 2017 by going to Federal>Deductions and Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid> Sales Tax.  You will be asked if you paid sales tax on a major purchase, and you will be able to enter the sales tax you paid for your new vehicle.

Sales tax is an itemized deduction.  If your state has a state income tax, you have to choose between using the deduction for your state tax paid OR the sales tax deduction, whichever is higher.  The TT process will suggest one or the other as you prepare your return.

“Major purchases” that you can enter for the sales tax deduction include:

Motor Vehicles (cars, trucks, motor homes, RV’s, sport utility vehicles and off-road vehicles

Aircraft or boats

Mobile homes

Manufactured housing

Building materials for major home improvements

You cannot deduct: furniture, jewelry, home electronics such as TV’s or computers
