When I file direct deposit, I often get the refund in just over two weeks, even though they warn that it takes three weeks. But it does seem that more and more people are having their refunds held for all sorts of reasons.

Most taxpayers will receive their refund within 21 days. If you have already e-filed your return, you can check the refund status in the link below once your return has been accepted. Paper filed returns take a bit longer (around 4 weeks).
