You're a part-year resident of South Carolina if you moved into or out of a permanent home in South Carolina during 2021. In your situation, you would be a part-year resident for 2021
North Carolina also defines a "part-year resident" as an individual who moves his or her domicile (legal residence) into or out of North Carolina during the tax year. So you are a part-year resident of North Carolina also.
The income you earned from SC after you moved to NC does not affect your residency in either state.
