What TurboTax program are you using?

The 2020 TurboTax desktop CD/Download edition software installed on your personal computer?

Or the 2020 TurboTax online web-based edition?

What updates?  Have you installed the 2020 Desktop program and having trouble updating it?  On Windows or Mac?  What does 42001 mean?

If your program says it's up to date or you can't update it then do the Manual Update.

The manual update in the FAQ that VolvoGirl referenced is out of date. The current update, as of today, August 8, is R42, which you can download from the following link.

TurboTax 2020 Windows individual R42

The manual update is only for Windows, and only for the federal program. There are no manual updates for the state programs, or for the Mac.
