How to file tax with pending ITIN Renewal

Hello,

I received an official letter from IRS on Aug 2020 ITIN will expire in Dec 2020 & apply for renewal. I submitted w7 and the required doc on Oct 2020 I still have not received confirmation (after 16 weeks). I tried to reach the IRS helpline & they do not option now to get the renewal status. Now can I e-file with earlier ITIN number Or have to do manual paper filing by resubmitting w7?

Thanks for the link. It is different from my situation because technically I submitted my renewal before expiry. I don't want my refund to delay & looking for a better option.
