You can call TurboTax and speak with an agent.  TurboTax customer service/support does not have a single phone number but has many different phone numbers based on the type of platform used.  So that we can direct your call to the best person/department to help you:

  1. Click on this link:  https://support.turbotax.intuit.com/contact/
  2. Select your TurboTax platform.
  3. Ask your question / state your problem.  Do NOT use the word "refund' or you will get a phone number for tax refunds.
  4. Click Submit.
  5. On the next screen, choose the Call option and follow the instructions.  You will be given the approximate wait time.

You'll get a toll-free number to a TurboTax expert who is specially-trained to handle your particular issue.

I paid to have them sent by you and it is showing received.  The state is saying they did not receive.  I needed to know what to do.  I've called the customer service lines 3x and have been disconnected.  What a horrible way to promote customer service.  I will not use your service again.

Paying the TT fee doesn't file the returns ... only you can click on the submit button for both the fed & state ... so did you file your state return?

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted?

You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large Orange button labeled "Transmit my returns now".

After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.

Did you do this?

See this TurboTax support FAQ to check the status of an e-filed tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/return-status/help/how-do-i-check-my-e-file-status/01/25538

If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund

If the return has not been filed yet then all you can do at this late date is print, ink sign and mail it in.

Paying your TurboTax fees does not file your tax return.  You have to go all the way through the FILE section to e-file.

Did you e-file?  Did you click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”

When you e-file your federal return you will receive two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say that your return was submitted.  The second email will tell you if your federal return was accepted or rejected.  If you e-filed a state return, there will be a third email to tell you if the state accepted or rejected your state return.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

If the IRS accepted it, what does it say here?

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

Or does your account say “Ready to Mail?”

Note: If it says “Ready to Mail” or “Printed” that means YOU have to mail it yourself.  TurboTax does not mail your tax return for you.

@goodgodalmighty0   Is the state saying they didn't get your tax return OR didn't get a tax due payment?

For a tax due.   Your proof is your bank account statement or credit card statement showing the payment coming out.  And Turbo Tax doesn't pay any tax due for you.  Turbo Tax just sends your payment method to the state.   You either put down your bank account number for the state to pull it directly out of your account or you needed to mail in a check.  Most states don't let you pay by direct debit.  Did you check your bank account to see if it came out?  You should have an instruction sheet telling you how to pay it.

Oh, and you can't have a state tax due deducted from your federal refund.  Never.  You can only have the Turbo Tax fees deducted from your refund.

Check the printout or PDF of your return; look for the state cover sheet with the Turbotax logo.  If you owed tax, it will show the payment information and how/when you decided to pay.  Read the state payment instructions carefully since most states cannot be paid from within the TT system and requires additional steps.

See this TurboTax support FAQ for amending a state tax return - https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/amending/help/i-need-to-amend-my-state-return/01/26510

Statement from Arizona - https://azdor.gov/news-events-notices/news/2020-conformity-notice

The American Rescue Plan of 2021 included a subtraction from federal adjusted gross income of up to $10,200 in unemployment income per person for the 2020 tax year.  Taxpayers who filed their original federal return for tax year 2020 claiming the subtraction should file their Arizona return starting with federal adjusted gross income from their federal return.  Taxpayers that did not take the subtraction on their original federal return and are waiting for the IRS to adjust their return to remove the subtraction should wait to amend their Arizona return.  The Department is analyzing this situation and will post additional guidance soon.

@GhuJlu

Millions of people are waiting for the severely backlogged IRS to process their tax returns and send their refunds.   You are not the only one.

The IRS is backlogged —-they are still trying to process millions of 2019 returns; they received millions of e-files on the day they opened for 2020 returns, and now they are burdened with sending out another round of stimulus checks.   Congress changed the tax laws in the middle of the tax season so millions of returns need to be recalculated; and now on top of all that,  they have to gear up to start making monthly child tax credit payments.

Some delays are resulting from incorrect amounts that folks entered for stimulus checks they received.   Many people have been confused by the recovery rebate credit and completed it incorrectly.  The IRS may delay your refund while they cross-check to see what you received.  Some refunds are delayed because of the tax law changes that went into effect recently.   If your return has unemployment or the premium tax credit on it, that may be delaying it.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:

https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/

Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.

You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2020 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:

https://www.irs.gov/refunds

To track your state refund:

https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1901548-why-do-some-refunds-take-longer-than-others

If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing.

From this IRS website - https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/irs-operations-during-covid-19-mission-critical-functions-continue

As of June 23, 2021, we had 17.5 million unprocessed individual returns in the pipeline. Unprocessed returns include tax year 2020 returns such as those requiring correction to the Recovery Rebate Credit amount or validation of 2019 income used to figure the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Additional Child Tax Credit (ACTC). This work does not require us to correspond with taxpayers but does require special handling by an IRS employee so, in these instances, it is taking the IRS more than 21 days to issue any related refund. If, as a result, a correction is made to any RRC, EITC or ACTC claimed on the return, the IRS will send taxpayers an explanation. Taxpayers are encouraged to continue to check Where’s My Refund? for their personalized refund status and can review Tax Season Refund Frequently Asked Questions.

How long you may have to wait: The IRS understands the importance of timely processing of tax returns and refund issuance. We have processed all error free returns received prior to 2021, and continue to work the returns that need to be manually reviewed due to errors.  We are rerouting tax returns and taxpayer correspondence from locations that are behind to locations where more staff is available, and we are taking other actions to minimize any delays. Tax returns are opened and processed in the order received. As the return is processed, it may be delayed because it has a mistake including errors concerning the Recovery Rebate Credit, is missing information, or there is suspected identity theft or fraud. If we can fix it without contacting you, we will. If we need more information or need you to verify that it was you who sent the tax return, we will write you a letter. The resolution of these issues depends on how quickly and accurately you respond, and the ability of IRS staff trained and working under social distancing requirements to complete the processing of your return.

What you should do: If you filed electronically and received an acknowledgement, you do not need to take any further action other than promptly responding to any requests for information. If you filed on paper, check Where’s my refund? If it tells you we have received your return or are processing or reviewing it, we are processing your return, but it may be under review. We’re working hard to get through the backlog. Please don’t file a second tax return or contact the IRS about the status of your return.

Need to speak with representative regarding IP Pin. Turbo Tax requests 5 digits the IP Pin is  6 digits.

Those are 2 different Pins used for 2 entirely different purposes.   Only the IRS can get you the IP Pin - not everyone has this; only certain taxpayers.   The other pin is a 5 digit number (self-select pin) you made up last year - you can use last year's AGI if you don't remember the 5 digit pin you used last year - you only need one of those numbers to e-file.   For identification purposes, you need to enter either last year’s Self-Select PIN 95 digit) or adjusted gross income (AGI).   No one at TurboTax has access to either pin number.  @CREMSE

The Self-Select PIN is a random five-digit number that you enter as your electronic signature when e-filing your return.

The IP PIN is a six-digit number that the IRS assigns to victims of tax-related identity theft.   How to get my IP PIN

Where do I enter my 6 digit IP PIN?

You can amend your state return in TurboTax by using the instructions below.  You should wait until your original return is processed before you actually begin the amendment. Follow the instructions carefully so that TurboTax knows the original numbers and the corrected numbers.
