ok - so you have pointed out that the thread(s) are over a year old -
and have no relavance to the 2019 shutdown. -
SO.... exactly what are the implications for attempting to file using TT during this period ...
unless of course - they are exactly the same as a year ago -

The IRS has recently said they are calling some people back to work.  The IRS plans to open up and start processing 2018 returns on January 28, 2019, but no one knows how smoothly things will run yet or if there will be delays. .   If a return has earned income credit (EIC) or ACTC (additional child tax credit), refunds will not be released until February 15 or later.

If you file now, it will just sit on TurboTax Servers until the IRS starts pulling returns on January 28, 2019, except for a few returns pulled early for testing purposes.   If you file now and later discover a mistake, get an additional W-2, 1099, etc. you cannot get the return back to correct it.  You'd have to wait and see if it was accepted or rejected after January 28 to know how to proceed.  If accepted, then you'd need to wait on any Federal refund (if applicable) to arrive, then file an amended return, which can be a hassle.
