Can I claim my mother and brother as my dependent?

My mom doesn't work since we came here in America in 2016. And my brother is 17 years old and in 11th Grade. We're greencard holders. We lived together and paying for their needs since I got my job last August 2017.

Yes, you can claim your mother and brother as dependents if you provided more than half of their support in 2017.

How will you prove that you provide half of their needs? Do they ask for any documnents or something?

You do not need to send any supporting documents to the IRS. Keep the calculations in your tax records.
