I just got a letter saying I didn't file 2016 Ohio tax. I assumed that would be electronically filed like my federal. I'm confused about what happened???

Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Did you file it when you filed your federal return? Did you owe tax to Ohio? What do your own bank/credit card records show regarding payment to OH?
To check your e-file status

Get your taxes done using TurboTax
Getting a receipt for your federal efile only means the IRS got your federal return. You should have received a separate email receipt for Ohio filing. If you didn’t, it means you did NOT file an Ohio return.
Try this first: https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1899433-how-do-i-track-my-state-refund
You can no longer efile from Turbotax. (TT). You must print and mail your return. How to access your return, in TurboTax, see https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1900748-how-do-i-get-a-copy-of-a-return-i-filed-in-turbotax-online
You can try I-filing at the Ohio Dept of Taxation web site, But you have to input info manually. You cannot upload your TT work. https://www.tax.ohio.gov/
