When you start a return with TurboTax Online you will go through an "Interview" portion where by what information you provide us about the prior year we will recommend the best product for you. Federal Free has certain limitations on it for someone to be able to use it such as you cannot itemize. You cannot enter certain 1099 forms. Etc. I will include a couple links on our Federal Free Edition so you can review the qualifications. With TurboTax Freedom Edition as long as you meet one of the qualifications then you are eligible to use it.
