Thinking about claiming a home based business, once I upgrade to a more expensive turbo tax plan to see if there are any benefits to this, can I change it back to a less expensive turbo tax plan?

You can't change to a lower version of the program without starting over.

I'm not sure what you meant by that, but reporting a business is not optional.
