I set up a payment plan to pay off what I owed this year and it was set up to be directly withdrawn from my bank account but I have not seen any notice of anything taken
It takes 2-3 months for the IRS to process a request for payment plan. They will first mail you a letter that your request was approved or denied, and if approved, the letter will have information on when the withdrawals will start.
