Why doesnt Turbo Tax tell me how much I spent on filing?

What idiot at Turbo Tax thinks that the amount that I pay Turbo Tax should not be something Turbo Tax can import when Turbo Tax asks me how much I paid to prepare my taxes last year?

Not an answer. Also the completely wrong answer to what you incorrectly thought I was asking. My tax preparation fees are deducted from my refund. I never use a credit card, and Turbo Tax never sends me an invoice. So in this way, it's completely impossible for me to use Turbo Taxes "Look Up My Order" feature. I have come to terms with the fact that this is something I can never know, because Turbo Tax won't tell me, but I legitimately want to know whose decision this was. I'm being very literal in my question. The benefit to using a tax app is for it to be smart and be able to import old tax data and other things. It is not doing this.

I understand that that is frustrating. Had you mentioned you paid with your refund in the original question, I would've answered differently. FYI ... the amount you pay for the refund processing service is not deductible so if you follow the instructions on how to get the TT fee it should yield the answer you want ... of course most of the time you can't even use this number on the Sch A if you don't have any other expenses in that section due to the 2% of AGI limitation.    <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/2559402-can-i-claim-tax-prep-fees-as-a-deduction">https://ttlc.int...>

It is not an automatic entry because the geniuses at Turbo Tax know that what you paid turbo tax for the 2015 return may not have been the only income tax prep fees you paid, you may have also filed prior year returns using a paid preparer or other tax software....  so this is an amount you have to provide yourself.

You get an email receipt every year that you should keep in case you are audited but you can get it this way as well ...

This is irrelevant. So, if I pay Turbo Tax $50, and I pay a tax professional another $50, since Turbo Tax doesn't know if I payed anyone else to prepare my taxes, they then deliberately avoid telling me how much I payed them at all? Turbo Tax is VERY, VERY good about methodically walking through other issues, but this one, they can't be bothered to say "Last year you paid us $X to file your taxes. This is Above/Below $Y. Do you have any other tax preparation fees from 2016?"
