My minor children received a 1099-r from a life insurance policy they have no other income. do i need to file individual taxes for each child so this money gets claimed?
the gross distribution is 1225.04 and the taxable amount is 391.72 if that makes any difference. I have 4 children who all received the same amount. When I enter all of the information under the kids information with the 1099R there is no tax due so I am just unsure if I need to file the return to claim the money or since it is under $10350 does it even have to be claimed. Please help!!!!

Get your taxes done using TurboTax
No they do not have to file that except to get back any withholding taken out.
