1040 schedule A #5 a is where you list state income taxes paid during 2016. There is not a place for this entry on this years turbo tax form. why?
I asked this same question last night but I got an answer regarding estimated taxes pd in 2016. This is not estimated tax paid, this is pd state income taxes. I know that not all states have state taxes but some do.
If you paid 2015 state income taxes when you filed your state tax return last year, that payment get entered under Federal Taxes>Deductions & Credits>Estimates and Other Taxes Paid>Other Income Taxes. You'll enter the payment on the next screen (see attached screenshot).
