I received a 1099-misc for a seasonal side job I do (plow condo and church in winter), do I have to file a schedule c? It keeps prompting me to file as self employed.

Yes, 1099 MISC income for certain types of side jobs gets reported on Schedule C of your tax return just like it would if you owned your own business.  So even though you don't think of yourself as self-employed, it is a situation in which you worked for yourself instead of working for an employer that pays a salary or a wage.  Therefore, the IRS treats this type of income as self-employment income.
