Spouse does not have IL PIN - can we continue to file

My spouse doesn't have an IL PIN - this is his first time filing. Can we file by leaving this blank?

If your spouse doesn't have an IL-PIN, an Illinois State ID, or an Illinois drivers license, just print your Illinois return and file by mail.  You won't be able to e-file.

Your Illinois PIN is the same every year. This number is not the same as your IRS e-file PIN.

If you don’t know your Illinois PIN you can look it up on Illinois’ website (http://www.revenue.state.il.us/ElectronicServices/Individuals/) or by calling (800) 732-8866 or (217) 782-3336. To get your PIN, you will need your Social Security Number and one of the following:

    1.  2014 Adjusted Gross Income (IL-1040, line 1)
    2. Drivers’ license number
    3.  Illinois state ID number
