Get your taxes done using TurboTax

Due to IRS adding new changes within the Schedules, there are now situations in which an upgrade may be needed. You are able to begin your tax return using TurboTax Free, but if you do not qualify for TurboTax Free, you will be prompted to upgrade.

Please see the following link for tax situations covered in TurboTax Free Edition.

If you don't qualify for TurboTax Free Edition, you may qualify for TurboTax Free File Program.

Here is more information on TurboTax Free File Program.

If you are going to be using the standard deduction then Basic should be fine and with the elimination of some of the traditional deductions such as Business Expenses it is very difficult to get to the numbers needed to itemize.  If you are itemizing I do recommend Deluxe as the "Its Deductible" tool is great for Charitable donations  (I have used Deluxe for years but I also need the State as I live in NY). Also included is the Audit Risk Meter, but mine has always said low and I still got audited last year (State not Federal).  I don't know where you are buying it though because deluxe should be $50 not $80, Premier is under $80 at most retailers, try Target or Costco for the disc versions.
