Strange warning on non-capital loss and T691

I have this warning when reviewing my file before wanting to Netfile

You have a current-year non-capital loss on your return, but one or more entries is missing on form T691:

a loss reported on line 12600 but no entry on line 67830 (I do not have a loss here)

a loss reported on line 12200 but no entry on line 67840 (I do not have a loss here)

a claim on line 23200 but no entry on line 67820 (I do not have a claim here)

or a claim on line 22100 but no entry on lines 67820 or 67840 (I have a claim here of a small amount)

Check your entries and make the necessary corrections

line 22100 is carrying charging/interest expenses, in here I put a small amount on interest from money used for investments, similar to previous years.

67820 is about Film property (doesn't apply to me)

67840 is about Tax shelters, limited partnerships and non-active partners (doesn't apply to me)

I do not know why I am getting this warning

Thanks for the info.  I'll go through everything again but I don't recall seeing that question anywhere.

Nevermind, I found an override for a field for net capital losses applied against taxable capital gains that was causing the problem.  Seems I had change a setting earlier in the menus about this and it did not reset a field properly

@mike2k25  - I'm also interested in knowing what fixed your issue.  Thanks!

With respect, that's not a helpful response; we understand the purpose of warnings. However there must be a specific criteria triggering that specific warning; there are which a whole bunch of people, including myself, who don't believe applies to them and cannot take any corrective action to clear the warning unless we get more details or Intuit releases a fix.

And yes, my version of TT is up to date.

Warnings that are false alarms diminish their usefulness.

@user17741887275 A warning is not an "alarm", it just the program asking you to double check something, which is why you get the option to ignore it. This is different from an error, which is telling you that something is wrong, and must be fixed.

@Vadodara The person who originally started the thread last year said he resolved the issue - "I found an override for a field for net capital losses applied against taxable capital gains that was causing the problem.  Seems I had change a setting earlier in the menus about this and it did not reset a field properly". Have you checked to see if you had any overrides?

I am getting the same message:

Check your entries and make the necessary corrections

I do not know why I am getting this warning.

I understand that TT is saying to file our return and to ignore the warning, however, I am not comfortable doing this, I just hope my return can be netfiled.

TT has been having a lot of issues this year, I just hope this doesn't happen again in future years as it creates more work and worry.  If it does happen again, I will have no choice but to look at another service for my family to use to file their annual income tax.

That warning went away for me after the latest update.  Does it persist after updates?

I am still having it even after the update from yesterday.  This is very strange.

I posted on another thread and then saw this one, so I’m copying it over here.

“Spouse and I both have the same problem. We had thought to finish things on Sunday, April 20, but no matter what we did the error was still there. I have been checking during the week to see if an update fixed the problem, but nothing so far. I just checked 5 minutes ago, and it is still giving the warning. We have never received this warning before when using TT.  We haven't tried to file yet, as we aren't sure if this means that the calculations are wrong somewhere.  As in, TT is not calculating our taxes correctly. Very disappointing given the price for the program.”

I got the same issue. I tried to ignore the warning and Netfile. It prevents me from filing due to the various incorrect error warning from the software despite applying the avoidance fix. As the various warning errors is prior to Netfile function, it has got to be software error.

I'm having the exact same warning and it's April 30th! I guess I will file and hope for the best.

@ProRad , as previously stated, warnings are there to remind you to double-check things. If the warning does not apply to you or you are certain you have entered the correct information, you can ignore it. Your feedback is valuable and has been noted.
