Where do I enter my personal property tax?

SOLVEDby TurboTax3649Updated January 30, 2024

Don't confuse real estate tax (commonly called "property tax") with personal property tax.

Personal property tax is imposed on movable things (mobile homes, RVs, vehicles, etc.) whereas real estate "property" tax is imposed on immovable assets such as houses and land. Real estate tax is entered in a different place in the program.

To enter your personal property tax in TurboTax, select your product.

  1. Open your return, if you're not already in it.
  2. Search inside your program for personal property taxes (use this exact phrase) and then select the Jump to link at the top of your search results.
  3. Answer Yes to Did you pay personal property taxes in 2023?
  4. Enter the amount you paid on the next screen and continue.
