According to my daughter's school website, the payment breakdown for Tuition and Fees is higher than what it is reported on her 1098-T by almost 7,000 dollars. Should I use the amount they are showing on the breakdown or the one on the 1098-T?

You should report the 1098-T as the school reported it, but then make adjustments as necessary by using the "What if this is not what I paid link?" located below Box 2 on the 1098-T screen.

Yes, I think I will do that. I'll use the amount on her 1098-T for box 2 and then add the breakdown amount on the additional box. Thank you!
