I got tuition online and contract, but no EIN.How can I deduct the amount I paid?

The Tuition and Fee deduction has already expired by the end of 2017. The education credits are still available. If you want to claim an education credit, your school must be an eligible educational institution accredited by the student financial aid program by the Department of Education. Click Schools for verification. ( select the link under Federal School Code list )

If your school is on the list, you can claim the credit. Otherwise, you cannot claim. To obtain the EIN, you would have to contact your school for a Form 1098-T.
