How do I claim the purchase of a laptop for school?
The course was fully online and required particular functions on the laptop.
If this purchase for required to enroll in the class and your are using it for higher education (above the 12th grade) you can use this as part of your education expense for the education credit if you qualify.
- Select Federal in the black navigation panel on the left
- Search (upper right) for education expense
- Jump to education expense
- Continue through the questions to see if you qualify and enter your expenses
